Residential, respite and temporary aged care facilities in Australia that supply/deliver food are required to have a food business licence and must comply with Standard 3.2.2A along with 3.3.1 and Standard 3.2.1 of the Food Standards Code.
Food Handler (PLUS) - Standard 3.2.2A
Standard 3.2.2A makes it unlawful for anyone to handle food without first completing a food safety training Course. The law defines food handling to be the making, cooking, preparing, serving, packing, displaying, storing, and the delivery of food as well as the cleaning of equipment, surfaces, utensils, and cutlery. While there is no nationally accredited course for this standard, the law does set a minimum curriculum that must be followed.
